Mr Bowen today announced he would step down as CEO, effective from November. 

Every Australian Counts campaign director John Della Bosca said Mr Bowen had prepared the Agency well to continue to tackle the challenges ahead. 

“As the head of the newly established Agency with the huge and challenging task of preparing Australians for the introduction of the NDIS, David has provided a really solid foundation to see the NDIS roll our nationally,” Mr Della Bosca said.

“His contribution in developing innovative policy for people with disability  – the NDIS and as an architect of the NSW Lifetime Care and Support scheme – is incredible.

“Throughout his career he been a champion for people with disability and their families and navigated some choppy waters to roll out initiatives that will improve lives.

“David has been constant in his vision of facilitating choice and control for Australians living with a disability which is reflected the in the ethos of the NDIS. people with disability having choice and control in their lives 

“I wish David all the best in his next chapter.”
