WA National Disability Insurance Scheme report found people weren’t being heard

WA disability advocates warned the federal government that people with disabilities, their families and carers need to be part of the decision making in the WA National Disability Insurance Scheme.

A report shared the experience of more than 200 people with disabilities, their families and carers from trial sites in WA.

WA is the only state trialling two different models of NDIS with the state government scheme, WA My Way NDIS, operating in the South West.

The federal government’s NDIS scheme operates in the Perth Hills.

The report found more needs to be done to protect the rights of people with disabilities in WA.
