NDIS: Sydney says ‘bring it on!’

NDIS: bring it on

Today, the NDIS opened its doors in Western Sydney as NSW commenced the full rollout of the NDIS. Thousands of people came together to celebrate at the Every Australia Counts kick off event.

NSW is the first state to move beyond an NDIS trial site and to mark this landmark event 1500 people from Every Australian Counts community came together, with thousands more watching the event live-streamed across Australia.

John Della Bosca, Every Australian Counts Campaign Director said it was another major milestone in the journey for the NDIS.

“Today the disability community came together to celebrate the next big step along the road to the NDIS,” he said.

“They made the NDIS happen and now it’s here for even more people with disability. Our message is clear, we are ready, so bring it on!”

This first step in the full rollout of the NDIS will see 2000 people with disability 0-under 18 receive an NDIS package with a focus on early intervention services.

These 2000 places are for young people in the Penrith, Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury and Lithgow LGAs.
